Marbesa and Carib Playa are two beach side areas between Elviria and Cabopino. They are well appreciated for their relaxing atmosphere and their lush green environments. Marbesa is the larger of the two areas and is famed for its tidiness and efficient community of owners. The area is very well maintained and the streets going down to the beach have sidecurbs to walk on and plenty of green bordering it. Carib Playa is somewhat smaller but has the same feel to it.
Marbesa and Carib Playa offer a variety of restaurants on the beach; Club 200 is known for its fresh fish dishes and is located straight on the beach. Rama also is located straight on the beach and also offers meat dishes and other traditional dishes. Restaurante Sinbad is located next to the old Moorish watch tower guarding the area. It has an international menu offering a little something for everyone.
Next the Nacional road 340 you will find el Rancho grill, famous for its steaks and mixed grill. The setting is very intimate and theservice is friendly. The meat is excellent and el Rancho is a successful recipe for a good evening out.
Next to all of this there are some smaller restaurants and cafeterias in the small pueblo Andaluz or Andalusian village on the top of the area and you can find a cafetaria on and next to the camping in the west of Marbesa.
On the camping there is a supermarket of the chain Cayetano as well for your local shopping. The Opencor of Hacienda las Chapas is the other supermarket in the area and opens 365 days a year 18 hours a day. Further shopping can be done in nearby Elviria.
Although Marbesa does not have its own sport facilities the tennis courts of the don Carlos hotel tennis club (over ten gravel courts) is only a 10 minute walk or a five minute bike ride away. Several golf courses are located within a 10 minute car drive the most famous ones being the Santa Maria, Santa Clara and Rio Real 18 holes courses.
Water activities can be enjoyed at nearby Cabopino beach or the don Carlos/Nikki beach. The hotel Artola is the closest place to sleep over and for the more luxury travelers the don Carlos hotel or Vime resort are around the corner. Nearby to Marbesa you will find the areas of Elviria and Hacienda las Chapas. Also Cabopino with its lively marina is around the corner.
